- History
- This herd descends from the one established by the Marqués de la Conquista with Jijona cattle. It passed to the matador Francisco Arjona ‘Cúchares’, in partnership with Don Santiago Martínez. Cúchares's share was bought by Don Mauricio Rosendo, from whom it passed in 1868 to Don Carlos López Navarro. Subsequently, his widow sold it to the Herrera Olea family, who sold it in 1909 to Don Luis Baeza. Don Pacomio Marín bought it from him in 1917 and, in 1928, added two crops of young cattle from Don Julián Fernández Martínez's herd and cows from Veragua, removing all the previous cattle. After Don Pacomio's death in 1938, his widow, Doña Francisca Marcos, inherited it. In 1944, it was divided among their children. One share went to Don Justo Marín Marcos, who sold it in 1946 to Don Jacobo Mazzucheli. He adopted a new brand and entered the herd under the name of his wife, Doña Carmen López de Ceballos y Ulloa. In 1947, he acquired a breeding bull from Don Bernardino Giménez. In 1963, the herd was sold to Don Apolinar Soriano Heras, who changed the brand. In 1990, he purchased a group of females and males from Don Marcos Núñez and expanded it with cattle from his wife Doña Amparo Mora's herd. In 1997, he bought 40 cows and three breeding bulls from Don Nazario Ibáñez, of Manolo González bloodlines, and in 2003 added another group of cows from Don Nazario Ibáñez. In 2001, he removed all the cattle from Doña Amparo Mora.
