- History
- D. Gil de Flores established the ranch in the late eighteenth century. On his death, one part passed to D. Fructuoso Flores. His widow and children inherited it in 1881 and sold it in 1925 to the Flores Albarrán family. They changed the brand and ribbon colours and expanded it with cattle from the Marqués de Cúllar de Baza, a breeding bull from Santa Coloma in 1932, a lot from D. Celso Pellón in 1934 and the Eizaguirre y Tejerina herd in 1935. The herd was considerably reduced during the war, and cattle originating from Samuel Hermanos were acquired in 1946. The ranch was divided in 1956, with D. Daniel and D. Pedro remaining together under the name ‘Herederos de Flores Albarrán’. They acquired the pure Santa Coloma breeding bull ‘Guitarrero’, no. 123, from Dª Ana Carolina Díez Mahou. In 1972 they acquired another of the same origin, ‘Venturero’, no. 71, together with a group of two-year-old heifers of the same brand and bloodline. In 2025 the ranch was acquired by Dehesa Medianería, S.L.
