History: Founded by D. José Vega in 1910 with Veragua cows and Santa Coloma stud bulls, it passed in 1914 to the Villar brothers. In 1928 D. Francisco Villar sold his share to D. Arturo Sánchez Cobaleda. On the latter’s death in 1942, it passed to his children and was divided in 1950. One lot went to his daughter Dª Pilar Sánchez-Cobaleda, who advertised it as Salamanca. On her death it passed to the current owners. In 1987 all the previous stock was removed, and the herd was rebuilt with the entire El Madrigal herd, formerly Félix Cameno, of Murube-Urquijo origin.
