History
In 1885, Don Luis da Gamma purchased females and breeding bulls from Don Joaquín Murube's herd, acquiring several more breeding bulls of the same origin up to 1904. In 1911, the herd was bought by Don Antonio Pérez-Tabernero, who crossed it with Parladé breeding bulls. He expanded it in 1919 with a group of females and a breeding bull from Don Luis Gamero Cívico, and in 1920 with females from Tamarón's widow. After Don Antonio's death, his daughter, Doña Amelia Pérez-Tabernero Montalvo, bought Doña Isabel Rosa González Martín's herd, removed the cattle from that purchase, changed the brand and re-established it with her inherited share of her father's herd. In 1985, it was acquired by Don Domingo Hernández, who sold the brand in 1992 to Don Francisco Medina. He changed it to the current El Ventorrillo brand and established the herd with 150 cows and four breeding bulls from Don Juan Pedro Domecq. In 2005, it was acquired by Don Fidel San Román, who created El Montecillo, incorporating cattle from El Ventorrrillo, Sotillo Gutiérrez, Montealto, Conde de Mayalde and Herederos de Don Antonio Arribas Sancho. In 2023, it was bought by Cebaderos de Rozalén S.L.U.
