- It was founded by D. Manuel Suárez Cordero with cattle acquired from Dª Isabel Montemayor, widow of Pedro José Picavea de Lesaca, and passed in 1850 to his son D. Manuel Suárez Jiménez. In 1868 it was bought by Dª Dolores Monje, widow of Murube, who expanded it with cattle from D. José Arias de Saavedra. In 1884 she sold half the herd to D. Eduardo Ibarra. In 1904 he divided it into two lots, one for D. Fernando Parladé and another acquired by D. Manuel Fernández Peña. The second was bought in 1905 by the Conde de Santa Coloma, who expanded it with cattle from the Marqués de Saltillo, keeping the two branches separate. In 1932 D. Joaquín Buendía Peña acquired it. In 1996, under Article 6 bis c), D. Joaquín Buendía formed three equally sized lots of males and females and divided them among his children. One share went to Rehuelga de Medina Sidonia S.L., which advertises it as Ganadería de Rehuelga.
