History
The herd was founded around 1929 by Gabriel González Fernández with part of the Arribas Hermanos herd. In 1949 it was divided among his children, with one lot going to Florencia González Martín. Following her death in 1955, Isabel Rosa González took charge and sold it to Germán Pimentel Gamazo in 1961. In 1965 the Blanco Coriso brothers acquired it, presenting it under the name Maribáñez and changing the brand. In 1980 two breeding bulls from the José y Juan herd, originating from Dionisio Rodríguez, were added. In 1980 Domingo Hernández acquired the herd and presented it as Garcigrande, with his wife listed as its representative. He removed all the previous stock and rebuilt it with a group of females and two breeding bulls from Juan Pedro Domecq.
