History
D. Manuel Aleas founded the ranch in the last quarter of the eighteenth century with Jijona cattle. On his death, his niece Dª Josefa Gómez and her husband, D. Manuel García Puente, inherited it. When D. Manuel died, his son don Francisco inherited the ranch and in 1904 passed it to his sons D. Manuel and D. José García Gómez, who added Aleas to their first surname. They separated in 1914, and D. Manuel crossed his share with a Santa Coloma bull and later with two breeding bulls from D. Graciliano Pérez-Tabernero. A breeding bull from D. José Escobar was added in 1941 and another from the same ranch in 1951. From 1950, following D. Manuel García-Aleas Gómez’s death, the ranch was registered under his son, D. Manuel García-Aleas Carrasco. In 1954, he expanded it with a group of females purchased from Herederos de D. Graciliano Pérez-Tabernero and, in 1977, a breeding bull from Herederos de D. Gabriel Hernández Pla, of Joaquín Buendía, Santa Coloma origin. In 1983, it was sold to its current owner, who added a group of females and a breeding bull acquired from Herederos de D. Gabriel Hernández Pla. In 1987, he purchased a group of females from D. Manuel Martínez Flamarique, of Buendía origin. In 1996, 30 cows were purchased from Zalduendo and mated with two breeding bulls from the same ranch, with this branch managed separately. The Santa Coloma line was eliminated in 2003.
