- History
- This ranch was established in 1909 by D. Ángel Cabezudo and Castillo Hermanos with cattle from D. Esteban Hernández. It subsequently passed to D. Celso Cruz del Castillo, who eliminated the previous stock and rebuilt the herd with cattle from D. Dionisio Peláez. In 1934, it began appearing as Hijos de D. Celso Cruz del Castillo. It was expanded in 1943 with cows from D. Ignacio Sánchez and in 1947 with cows from the Duque de Pinohermoso. Finally, in 1954, cows from Guardiola Soto and a breeding bull from Samuel Flores were added. In 1967, the ranch was sold to don Agustín Torrego Álvarez, who named it La Guadamilla. In 1969, he acquired a group of females and a breeding bull from D. Joaquín Buendía, eliminating the previous stock. In 1985, he purchased a breeding bull from Herederos de D. Gabriel Hernández Pla, of Joaquín Buendía, Santa Coloma origin. In 1994 and 1995, he acquired females and breeding bulls from don Juan Pedro Domecq, keeping the two bloodlines separate. In 2002, he eliminated all the Santa Coloma stock and retained the cattle from D. Juan Pedro Domecq.
