History
The herd was established in 1930 by D. Emilio Bueno through a purchase from D. Joaquín López Moreno de Villena. In 1932 he removed all the previous cattle and acquired cows and breeding bulls from Santa Coloma and D. Manuel García-Aleas, adding a lot of cows from D. Argimiro Pérez-Tabernero in 1935. It was acquired in 1972 by D. José Ortega Sánchez, who sold it in 1977 to D. Victorino Martín y Hermanos, advertising it as “El Tomillar”. In 1982 it was acquired by doña Antonia Julia de Marca, who removed all the previous cattle and established it with cows and breeding bulls from D. Atanasio Fernández. In 1985, cows and breeding bulls belonging to her husband D. José Luis Marca Rodrigo, of “Jandilla” origin, were added. The current owner bought it in 1993. In 1994 he acquired cows and breeding bulls from the heirs of D. Atanasio Fernández. In 1995 it was increased with cows and breeding bulls from D. Pablo Vázquez (formerly José Pocoví), of “Jandilla” origin. In 1998 most of the Atanasio Fernández-origin cattle were removed, leaving only those of “Jandilla” origin.
