- History
- This breeding ranch was created in 2000 under Article 6 of the Unión's statutes. It descends from the herd established by the Marqués de la Conquista with Jijona cattle, which passed to matador Francisco Arjona “Cúchares” in partnership with D. Santiago Martínez. Cúchares's share was acquired by D. Mauricio Rosendo, from whom it passed to D. Carlos López Navarro in 1868. Later owned by his widow, it was sold to the Herrera Olea family, who sold it in 1909 to D. Luis Baeza. D. Pacomio Marín acquired it from him in 1917 and added two annual crops of cattle from D. Julián Fernández Martínez and cows from Veragua in 1928, removing all the previous cattle. When D. Pacomio died in 1938, his widow Dª Francisca Marcos inherited it. In 1944 it was divided among their children. One lot went to Dª Micaela Marín Marcos and was acquired that same year by don Primitivo Valdeolivas González, from whom D. Juan Pablo Jiménez Pasquau bought it in 1971. In 1972 the previous cattle began to be removed, leaving a herd made up solely of cattle from D. Samuel Flores. Cows and a breeding bull from Jandilla were purchased in 1989, followed by purchases in 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1996 of cows from El Torreón, Salvador Domecq and Luis Algarra of the same origin. Two breeding bulls from Juan Pedro Domecq were also acquired in 1991 and 1994, and one from Algarra in 1996, while all the cattle of D. Samuel Flores origin were removed.
