- History
- This ranch descends from the herd Dª Lorenza Cortés inherited from D. Vicente Cortés García in 1918. It was expanded with cattle from D. Nicasio López Navalón, of Dª María Sánchez origin, formerly Trespalacios. In 1965, it was sold to the Condesa de las Atalayas, who sold it in 1970 to D. Luis Maldonado Passanha. He eliminated these cattle and replaced them with Urquijo stock inherited from his father, D. Diego Francisco d’Affonseca Maldonado Passanha. In 1993, the ranch passed to D. Joâo Maldonado Passanha. Its original seniority date was lost because the brand and ribbon colours had been changed to their current forms in 1971.
