History
One of the lots into which D. José Antonio Adalid’s herd, of Vistahermosa and Barbero de Utrera origin, was divided passed in 1902 to D. Francisco Taviel de Andrade, then successively to D. Gregorio Campos in 1908, D. Narciso Darnaude in 1921, D. Romualdo Arias de Reina in 1930, Hidalgo Hermanos in 1932 and, in 1950, D. Arturo Pérez Fernández. In 1953 it was divided into five lots, one for each of his children. The lot inherited by Dª María del Carmen Pérez López de Tejada was sold in 1955 to D. Francisco Rincón Cañizares and acquired in turn by Dª Margarita Hernández Castro in 1970. In 1971 it was sold to the Gutiérrez Mora brothers, then bought in 1975 by D. Salustiano Galache, who advertised it under his wife Dª María Teresa Calderón’s name. In 1976 all the previous stock was removed, and the herd was formed solely with the Encinas cows and stud bulls of Vega-Villar origin that D. Salustiano Galache had inherited from his mother, Dª Caridad Cobaleda, widow of Galache. In 2006 it was acquired by its current owners, who changed the brand, colours and ear mark and formed it with cattle from El Pilar and D. Pío Tabernero de Vilvís. In 2007 they removed all the D. Pío Tabernero de Vilvís cattle and purchased another lot of females from El Pilar.
