- D. Florentino Sotomayor established the ranch in 1912 with cattle from Miura and Parladé and several breeding bulls from Tamarón. In 1931, D. Mariano and D. Fermín Martín Alonso acquired it and in turn sold it in 1935 to D. Marcial Lalanda, who registered it under the name Dª Emilia Mejía. In 1940, he added a breeding bull and cows from Albaserrada, then sold the ranch in 1945 to D. Tomás Prieto de la Cal. He eliminated all the previous stock and introduced cattle of Veragua origin acquired from D. José Enrique Calderón. Following D. Tomás’s death in 1975, the ranch began appearing under his son’s name.
