- History
- The ranch descends from the one established by D. Gil de Flores in the late seventeenth century. In 1925 it passed to the Flores Albarrán family, who expanded it with cows of Campos Varela and Izaguirre Tejerina origin and a breeding bull from Martínez. The herd was divided in 1956, and Dª Mercedes Flores Sánchez's share was sold in 1958 to Dª María Gascón, D. Juan Luis and D. Nicolás Fraile y Martín. They changed the brand and acquired 100 cows and three breeding bulls from D. Arturo Sánchez y Sánchez that same year. In 1962 they acquired 50 cows and three breeding bulls from D. José Infante de Cámara. Part of D. Lisardo Sánchez y Sánchez's herd was added in 1976. In 1982, 30 cows from D. Atanasio Fernández were bought from D. Arturo Gallego. In 1987 and 1988, 50 yearling heifers, 50 two-year-old heifers and 25 cows were acquired from D. Atanasio Fernández. Following the lines of D. Lisardo Sánchez and D. Atanasio Fernández, all earlier stock was removed. In 1992, under Article 6 of the statutes and following the end of the ranch's co-ownership, D. Lorenzo Fraile Martín became its sole owner.
