- History
- The Marqués de Melgarejo founded this herd at the beginning of the century with cows from Félix Gómez and Aleas, a Saltillo breeding bull and, later, another from Pablo Romero. In 1927 Salvador and Francisco Garrido Altozano acquired the herd and changed its brand. In 1948 Román Sorando Herranz acquired the breeding herd and changed the brand again to the one currently used. In 1996 the herd was divided in two and came into the ownership of Hortensia Sorando. The breeding herd consists of cattle of Gamero Cívico origin, some Núñez stock and, predominantly, Domecq through Las Ramblas, alongside breeding bulls of Domecq origin from various sources.
