History
Don Domingo Varela established the herd with cattle of various origins, including animals from the Gallardos of El Puerto de Santa María and the Marqués de Ulloa of Utrera. His widow inherited it and sold it to Don Juan de Dios Romero; it then passed to Don Ángel González Nadín and subsequently Don José Clemente Rivera. Don Antonio López Plata acquired it in 1902, and it was later registered under his widow’s name, Doña Concepción Soto. In 1944, her nephew Don José María Soto de la Fuente took charge of the herd. In 1974, it was sold to Sociedad Soto de Luis and adopted the name Soto de la Fuente for advertising on posters. In 1988, a lot of cows and one breeding bull were acquired from the Sampedro brothers, Don Angel and Don Juan Antonio.
