- In 1955, Don Pablo Mayoral Herranz, grandfather of the current owners, joined the AGL. The breeding herd was established with a lot of one hundred breeding animals from Doña Francisca Sancho, widow of Arribas, originating from Don Vicente Martínez and incorporated into the herd in 1957. In 1962, half of Don Alberto González Carrasco’s herd, of Duque de Veragua origin, was added. In 1964, he bought from Don Víctor Huertas a lot of 40 cows originating from the Duque de Tovar and María Dolores de Juana de Cervantes, along with a breeding bull bearing the latter brand, all descended from Conde de Santa Coloma. Don Pablo Mayoral Herranz died in December 1986, and the herd passed to his son Don Pablo Mayoral Benito, who had managed it and handled its commercial activities since its establishment. Twelve years later, on 29 May 1998, Don Pablo Mayoral Benito died, and the herd passed to his heirs: his nine children and his widow, fellow breeder Mercedes Figueroa. It adopted its current name, “Toros de Pablo Mayoral”. At the start of 2015, three of his daughters, Mercedes, Mara and Ana, acquired all the cattle and the brand from their other siblings and their mother. They also incorporated the breeding females and males from the brand owned by Mercedes Figueroa, registered with the UCTL (Unión de Criadores de Toros de Lidia), with the same origins and bloodline. In this new phase, both the name on posters and all other identifying marks will remain as before.
