- History
- D. Nicolás Fraile Martín created this ranch in 1992 under Article 6 of the statutes, following the end of the joint ownership of Puerto de San Lorenzo. That ranch originated in Dª Mercedes Flores Sánchez’s herd, purchased in 1958 by Dª María Cascón, D. Juan Luis and D. Nicolás Fraile Martín. They changed the brand, eliminated all the previous stock and, that same year, bought 100 cows and three breeding bulls from D. Arturo Sánchez y Sánchez. In 1962, they acquired 50 cows and three breeding bulls from D. José Infante da Cámara. In 1977, they purchased half of D. Lisardo Sánchez y Sánchez’s herd, the part of Parladé origin. In 1987 and 1988, they acquired a group of yearling heifers from D. Atanasio Fernández each year. In 2008, they purchased 40 cows and a breeding bull from D. Javier Pérez-Tabernero’s ranch, of Atanasio Fernández origin, selecting them from the 170 cows in the herd before it was disbanded. Today, the ranch follows the pure D. Lisardo Sánchez and D. Atanasio Fernández lines. It is currently run by D. Nicolás Fraile, who inherited it from his father, D. Nicolás Fraile Martín.
