- History
- Established by the Marqués de Castrojanillos, the herd passed to Don Francisco Roperuelas and Don Teodoro Valle, then to Don Gumersindo Gutiérrez Gago in 1885, Don Fernando Nuño Ledesma in 1887, and Doña María Nuño Vicente and her husband Don Francisco Escudero in 1916. After his death, it passed to their sons Don Julíán and Don Manuel Escudero Nuño. They divided it in 1948, with the original brand going to Don Julián. After his death, the herd was split into three lots. Don Francisco Escudero Mufiel’s lot was acquired in 1970 by Don Manuel San Román de Valdés, who removed all previous cattle and bought cows and breeding bulls from Don Antonio Arribas, originating from Don Juan Pedro Domecq. In 1980, he again acquired cows and breeding bulls from Don Antonio Arribas. In 2000, the herd was acquired by new owners.
