History: When Don Juan Guardiola Fantoni’s herd, of Gamero Cívico origin, was divided, one lot went to his son Don Manuel Guardiola Soto. He sold it in 1951 to Don José Luis Vázquez Garcés, who added cows and breeding bulls from Santa Coloma. The Vázquez Silva brothers acquired it in 1973 and sold it in 1982 to Doña Leandra Díaz Martínez, who advertised it as “El Retamar”. Its current owner acquired it in 1985, removed all previous cattle and established it with one lot from Don Juan Pedro Domecq, another from Don Luis Algarra Polera together with the breeding bull Aldeano, and seventy cows and three breeding bulls from “Jandilla”. More cows from “El Torreón” were later added. In 2002, he bought, by draw, one-eighth of the “Toros de El Torero” herd, all of Juan Pedro Domecq y Díez origin.
