The setting for the bullfight
Bullring history and facts
The venue occupies a Roman amphitheatre built in the late first century. In the Middle Ages it was turned into a fortress and eventually housed dwellings, which were removed during works from 1826 to 1830. Modern bullfighting developed within this historic building.
