Bullring history and facts

The Maestranza developed in stages on the site of the Baratillo bullring. In 1733, the bullring was delivered with wooden stands, and masonry construction progressed from 1749. The complex includes the Prince's Box and the Prince's Gate, as well as its distinctive oval arena.

In 1915 Joselito el Gallo won the first ear awarded in the bullring. The following year Juan Belmonte, Vicente Pastor and Rafael el Gallo joined him in that history.
