Highlights from Las Ventas, 10 October 2026: Álvaro Serrano alone

Álvaro Serrano’s solo appearance at Las Ventas on 10 October 2026 was interrupted by a serious goring during his faena to the third novillo, from Conde de Mayalde. The novillero had acknowledged an ovation after a request for an ear following the first, from Domingo Hernández, and received silence for the second, from Fuente Ymbro. After the injury, he underwent surgery in the bullring infirmary and was transferred to hospital, unable to continue the event.

The reserve matadors Héctor Roberto and Aitor Fernández took over to complete the event. Héctor Roberto finished the third novillo and killed the fifth; Aitor Fernández faced the fourth and sixth, receiving an ovation for the fourth. The afternoon ended without trophies. Novillos from Domingo Hernández, Fuente Ymbro, Conde de Mayalde, Luis González Conde, Montealto and Julio de la Puerta were fought in that order, before a crowd of 21,864.
