Valencia’s bullring held the bullfight for the Valencian Community’s regional holiday on 9 October 2026, featuring Morante de la Puebla, Roca Rey and Tomás Rufo. With a sold-out crowd, five Álvaro Núñez bulls and one Torrealta bull, which opened the afternoon, were fought. Roca Rey was the event’s winner: he cut one ear from each of his bulls and left through the Main Gate. Tomás Rufo earned another ear from the third bull and received silence after the sixth.
Morante received ovations for both performances, with an appeal for an ear after the first. Roca Rey began his faena to the second bull on his knees and overcame the fifth bull's tendency to seek its preferred ground to earn the trophy that secured his exit on shoulders. Rufo found the best opportunities with the third bull near the boards, in a faena rewarded with an ear; the sixth offered few possibilities. The corrida ended with three ears: two for Roca Rey and one for Tomás Rufo.
