An Albacete line-up for a charitable cause
The Festival del Cotolengo reaches its thirty-sixth edition with five matadors linked to Albacete: Sergio Martínez, Abraham Barragán, Antón Cortés, César Jiménez and Andrés Palacios. Neyzan Espín, a pupil of the Escuela Taurina de Albacete, will join them in the opening parade. The charity event benefits the Institución Sagrado Corazón de Jesús and brings several generations of local bullfighters back into the ring.
The bullring announces six young fighting bulls. Two come from Los Chospes, with Castillo de Montizón, Garcigrande and San Isidro also represented. The poster also lists a young bull donated by the promoter, but the official source consulted does not specify its breeder. This variety of origins completes an afternoon with a strong Albacete connection, from the announced professionals to the student who will close the event.
