El Mene’s alternativa, with Morante and Diego Urdiales
El Mene’s alternativa will be the centrepiece of the line-up on Saturday 17 October at La Misericordia. Morante de la Puebla will act as sponsor and Diego Urdiales as witness in a bullfight featuring bulls from six breeding ranches. The Aragonese novillero will join the ranks of matadors on home ground, during the final weekend of the Pilar Fair and Morante’s second consecutive afternoon in Zaragoza.
The programme lists cattle from José Vázquez, Zalduendo, Victoriano del Río, Garcigrande, Alcurrucén and Carmen Lorenzo. The variety of bloodlines distinguishes this event from Friday’s bullfight, which features bulls from Hermanos García Jiménez and Olga Jiménez Fernández. Morante will also have different partners: after appearing with Sebastián Castella and Aarón Palacio on the 16th, he will join Urdiales this afternoon for El Mene’s alternativa ceremony. The series will end on Sunday the 18th with the mounted bullfight.
